ONE Championship has decided to go on with “ONE: Century世紀” while other events scheduled in Tokyo, Japan from October 12-13, 2019 have been canceled. A strong typhoon is expected to bring up to 30 inches of rain and damaging winds to the city this weekend.

In a statement, ONE Championship confirmed that both of the two parts of “ONE: Century世紀” happening on October 13, 2019 at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo are to proceed as scheduled. The martial arts organization stated, “However, we do advise the general public to take extra caution, especially those who will make the journey to the stadium.”

“The health and safety of our athletes, staff and fans remain our top priority and will not be compromised,” ONE Championship continued. “Ticket holders who are unable to attend Part I of our event due to inclement weather and transportation challenges will be granted a complete refund. We at ONE Championship thank everyone for the support.”

“ONE: Century 世紀” is the 100th live event of ONE Championship. It features 28 world champions from across various martial arts and seven world title bouts in two full-scale events.

ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan, 31, of China will challenge ONE Atomweight World Champion “Unstopabble” Angela Lee, 23, of Singapore in the main event of the first part, which will be broadcast live in the United States via TNT and B/R Live. It starts from 9:00 a.m. JST on October 13, 2019 or 8:00 p.m. EST on October 12, 2019.

ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera, 41, of the Philippines will challenge two-division champ “The Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang, 33, of Myanmar in the light heavyweight division in in the main event of the second part, which will be broadcast live across more than 140 countries worldwide and streamed to 2.6 billion potential viewers through the world’s largest television networks. It starts from 5:00 p.m. JST on October 13, 2019 or 4:00 a.m. EST on October 12, 2019.
