Thuzar Wint Lwin (သူဇာဝင့်လွင်), 22, of Hakha, Myanmar was crowned Miss Universe Myanmar 2020 at the Novotel Max Hotel in Yangon on December 30, 2020. She bested 34 other candidates.
On May 16, 2021, Thuzar represented Myanmar at Miss Universe 2020 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States. She competed against 73 other candidates.
Born in Yangon, Thuzar is the youngest among three children. Her sister May Thu Aung, 30, is Miss Now How 2007 first runner-up and Miss Kose 2008 first runner-up.
Currently, Thuzar is attending the University of East Yangon in Yangon. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in English.
Thuzar finished in the Top 21 at Miss Universe 2020. This made her the first ever candidate from Myanmar to place in Miss Universe.
Moreover, Thuzar won the Best National Costume award. The Miss Universe 2020 crown was won by Andrea Meza, 26,of Mexico.
As Burma, Myanmar was represented in Miss Universe in 1959 by Than Than Aye, in 1960 by Myint Myint May and in 1961 by Khin Myint Myint. In 2013, the Asia country returned to the international beauty pageant as Myanmar.
