Missy Tremblay
Melissa Ann “Missy” Tremblay of Salem, New Hampshire, United States died in September 1988. She was 11.
Tremblay was a sixth grader. She was the adopted daughter of Janet M. Tremblay, who was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, USA to Fred Bogannam and Edith Graham Bogannam.
Janet was 43 when Missy went missing. On September 11, 1988, Missy accompanied Janet and Janet’s boyfriend to the LaSalle Social Club on Andover Street in Lawrence.
While Janet and her boyfriend were inside the club, Missy played in the adjacent neighborhoods then disappeared. The two adults frantically searched for the girl and reported the girl missing to the Lawrence Police Department.
A pizza delivery man and an employee at a nearby railyard were the last people to see Missy alive. On September 12, 1988, Missy was found dead at the Boston & Marine railway yard in Lawrence.
Missy was stabbed to death. After her death, a train car ran over her body, which amputated her left leg.
Skip McClendon
Marvin Carlton “Skip” McClendon, Jr., 76, of Bremen, Cullman County, Alabama, USA is accused of murdering Missy. He was working as a carpenter affiliated with a church in Lawrence and living in Chelmsford, Massachusetts at the time of her death.
On April 27, 2022, McClendon was arrested in Bremen for Missy’s murder and booked into the Cullman County Detention Center in Cullman, Alabama. On May 13, 2022, he was ordered held without bail.
On July 7, 2022, McClendon pleaded not guilty to murder. On December 27, 2023, his trial ended with a judge declaring a mistrial due to a deadlocked jury.
