Was OJ Simpson diagnosed with prostate cancer?

On May 30, 2023, OJ took to social media to announce that he was undergoing treatment for cancer without specifying what type of cancer. He said, “In recent years, really recent years, I unfortunately caught cancer so I had to do the whole chemo thing.”

“I had COVID and cancer at the same time unfortunately,” OJ continued. “I am over the chemo.”

On February 9, 2024, OJ debunked the rumors that claimed he had been diagnosed with cancer and was in hospice. He said he would be hosting friends for the Super Bowl LVIII.

“No, I am not in any hospice,” OJ said. “I don’t know who put that out there.”

On February 11, 2024, OJ shared a video of himself wearing a San Francisco 49ers jersey and speaking in front of a pool. He said, “Obviously I’m dealing with some issues but I think I’m just about over it and I’ll be back on that golf course hopefully in a couple of weeks.”

OJ neither denied nor confirmed his prostate cancer diagnosed. On April 11, 2024, his children released a statement saying, “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer.”

“He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren,” the statement continued. “During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”
