Eduardo “Eddie” Valdivia, 40, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, United States is a Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent. He served with the Americorp‘s National Service Program and Children’s Health Initiative and worked at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as a public health analyst and a project officer before joining the FBI in 2011.
In 2019, Valdivia was promoted to supervisory special agent at the FBI headquarters. His duty was to provide operational guidance and programmatic oversight of investigations into racially motivated and anti-government extremists.

Also in 2019, Steven Slaughter, then 28, allegedly attacked and threatened to kill somebody at a Metro station. On December 15, 2020, he allegedly approached Valdivia while they were on a Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) train and asked for money.
At the time, Valdivia was on his way to work. He shot Slaughter while the train was approaching the Medical Center Station in Bethesda, Montgomery County, Maryland.
Slaughter survived. In May 2021, a grand jury indicted Valdivia on charges of attempted second-degree murder, assault, reckless endangerment and felony use of a firearm.
On June 1, 2021, Valdivia turned himself in and was booked into Montgomery County Detention Center in Rockville, Montgomery County. On December 2, 2022, he was acquitted of the charges filed against him for shooting Slaughter.
In May 2024, Valdivia allegedly sexually assaulted a woman inside DC Fine Line Tattoos, a tattoo studio in Gaithersburg, after luring her there under the guise of modeling opportunities with Exeter Models. In September 2024, he allegedly sexually assaulted another woman inside the studio after luring her there under the same guise of modeling opportunities.
In October 2024, the first woman reported being assaulted by Valdivia. In November 2024, the second woman came forward with a similar account.
On November 25, 2024, the Montgomery County Department of Police arrested Valdivia in Maryland on charges of sexually assaulting the two women. He was ordered held in custody after his initial court appearance.
On November 26, 2024, Valdivia will return to court for a bond hearing before a judge. He is awaiting a bond hearing and being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
