From Stuttgart to Miss Universe 2015
Stuttgart has 23 districts. Since the end of World War II, there has been a U.S. military presence in the city.
“Earlier this year, there was a controversy in the Philippines about the United States reopening a military base in your country,” Steve Harvey asked Pia in the question-and-answer portion of the Top 5 round of Miss Universe 2015. “Do you think the United States should have a military presence in your country?”
“I think that the United States and the Philippines have always had a good relationship with each other,” Pia answered. “We were colonized by the Americans and we have their culture and our traditions even up to this day and I think that we’re very welcoming with the Americans and I don’t see any problem with that at all.”
Harvey controversially announced Pia as the runner-up and Ariadna Gutierrez of Colombia as the winner. While onstage, he immediately corrected himself and revealed that it was the other way around.
Olivia Jordan of the U.S. was second runner-up. Monika Radulovic of Australia and Flora Coquerel of France finished in the Top 5.
