At least two Miss Supranational 2025 candidates are of Nigerian descent. They are Marvelous Sanyaolu, 22, of Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, United States and Paula Ezendu, 26, of Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria.
Marvelous Sanyaolu
Born in Nigeria, Sanyaolu speaks four languages. While pursuing a bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy at the Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, she serves as a Reserve Officers’ Training Corps cadet in the U.S. Army.
Sanyaolu is originally from Lagos, Nigeria. She previously lived in Lafayette, Lafayette Parish, Louisiana.
On March 30, 2024, Sanyaolu represented East Baton Rouge Parish at Miss Louisiana USA 2024 and competed against 26 other candidates at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center in Metairie, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. She was unplaced.
On June 22, 2024, Sanyaolu competed against eight other Miss Lafayette USA 2025 candidates in Lafayette. She was second runner-up to Anna Steckler.
Miss Supranational 2025
On May 7, 2025, Sanyaolu represented Louisiana at Miss Supranational USA 2025 at La Scala de Miami in Miami, Florida, USA. She competed against seven other candidates and won the title.
On June 27, 2025, Sanyaolu will represent the U.S. in the 16th edition of Miss Supranational in Nowy Sacz, Malopolska, Poland. She is the 14th beauty queen to represent the U.S. in the competition.
Sanyaolu will compete against 71 other Miss Supranational 2025 candidates including Ezendu, who will represent Nigeria. Their fellow African candidates include Kendra Cordeiro, 26, of Angola, Caroline Kondé, 28, of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Maria Rosa Aviri Ncogo, 20, of Equatorial Guinea, Valentina Nartey, 23, of Ghana, Savannah Pereira, 24, of Namibia, Aminance Fofanah, 29, of Sierra Leone, Lebohang Raputsoe, 26, of South Africa, Marie Kolani, 24, of Togo, NaMakau Nawa, 20, of Zambia and Pauline Marere, 30, of Zimbabwe.
On August 31, 2024, Ezendu represented Anambra State at Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 and competed against 24 other candidates at the Eko Hotels and Suits on Victoria Island in Lagos. She was runner-up to Chidimma Adetshina and was crowned Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025.
