Abbigail “Abby” Sturgin, 28, represented New Zealand in the 17th edition of Miss Earth. She will represent the country in the 74th edition of Miss Universe.

Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, Sturgin studied accounting and management at the Auckland University of Technology in Auckland. Her father is Kiwi and her mother is Laotian.
Currently, Sturgin is employed as a frontline police officer. Her boyfriend Justin Wright is Kiwi-Japanese.
In Sturgin’s free time, she enjoys eating, going to the gym and hanging out with her friends and family. She is 5’51⁄2” tall.
On June 4, 2016, Sturgin competed against 13 other Miss World New Zealand 2016 candidates and finished in the Top 6. It was the first time she competed in a beauty pageant.
From Miss Earth 2017 to Miss Universe 2025
On May 27, 2017, Sturgin competed against seven other Miss Earth New Zealand 2017 candidates at the Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre in Mount Wellington, Auckland. She won the title.
On November 4, 2017, Sturgin represented New Zealand at Miss Earth 2017 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines and competed against 84 other candidates including Diamond Langi of Tonga. Sturgin was unplaced while Langi finished in the Top 16.
On May 23, 2025, Sturgin turned 28. On June 24, 2025, she competed against 12 other Miss Universe New Zealand 2025 candidates at the SkyCity Theatre in Auckland and won the title.
On November 21, 2025, Sturgin will represent New Zealand at Miss Universe 2025 at the Impact Challenger Hall in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand. She will compete against more than 120 other candidates including Xuhe Hou, 22, of China, Sahar Biniaz, 41, of Iran, Dana Almassova, 20, of Kazakhstan, Mary Kuvakova, 19, of Kyrgyzstan and Maria Ahtisa Manalo, 28, of the Philippines.
